Greetings! Here are the two Ballot Initiatives that you have been seeing us talk about and that we are hopeful to get to the 2024 ballot: the Voting Rights for Incarcerated Individuals Amendment (Ballot Initiative 22-07), and the Offender Reintegration Program Amendment (Ballot Initiative 22-18). Initiative 22-07 is basically an extension of 2020s amendment 4, which creates the right for returning citizens to vote after completing their sentences. Initiative 22-07 will delete the disqualification of most incarcerated individuals from voting in general elections and afford them this basic right while incarcerated. Initiative 22-18 will create a mechanism for review of incarcerated individuals for supervised release after meeting certain qualifications based on individual merit of rehabilitation and time served--essentially the right to a review.
We need help gathering as many signed petitions as possible! Family, friends, church congregations, any and all will help us achieve our goal of obtaining 900,000 signed petitions by January 1, 2024.
